This is a quick summary of the book THE HAPPINESS PROJECT, Or Why I Spent a Year Trying to Sing in the Morning, Clean My Closets, Fight Right, Read Aristotle, and Generally Have More Fun, by Cretchen Rubin.
The way it is written is like study/structure of what contains her elements of achieving happiness through a blog/journal book with notes to experiences of her bloggers and noting attributes found in scientific studies.
Before starting, she established “TWELVE COMMANDMENTS” that she would refer to at appropiate times:
1. Be Gretchen.
2. Let it go.
3. Act the way I want to feel.
4. Do it now.
5. Be polite and be fair.
6. Enjoy the process.
7. Spend out.
8. Identify the problem.
9. Lighten up.
10. Do what ought to be done.
11. No calculation.
12. There is only love.
She also provides a list of twenty one “Secrets of Adulthood”. A similar list can be found here: 25 Secrets of Adulthood that I’ve Learned the Hard Way. | Gretchen Rubin
